U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that beginning September 25, 2006 it will begin accepting Premium Processing requests for I-140 Immigrant Petition filings for EB-1 outstanding professors and researchers, EB-2 members of professions with advanced degrees or exceptional ability not seeking a National Interest Waiver, and EB-3 workers other than skilled workers and professionals. This action expands the scope of I-140 petition for which premium processing is available. Until now, premium processing of I-140s has been limited to the EB-3 preference classification.
