On April 10, 2007, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released new information about the number of FY2008 H-1B cap cases filed. As of April 9, USCIS has received a total of 119,193 H-1B petitions subject to the FY2008 cap. USCIS received approximately 12,989 cases requesting an exemption from the FY2008 H-1B cap because the sponsored foreign national possesses a U.S. master’s or higher degree. According to USCIS, the limit of 20,000 H-1B slots for master’s or higher degree holders has not been reached and the category remains open. Please click here to read the entire USCIS News Release.
